Notes from MHS Guidance Office

  • Local Scholarships with the deadline in March. In January, these scholarships will be made available on google drive.
  • The MHS Guidance Office lists scholarships on our web page.  These scholarships are sent to us for sharing with students.  Our list is not a comprehensive list and we encourage students to do their own research. 
  • Most individual scholarships will come from the colleges to which you apply.  Contact the school to find out about the financial aid assistance available at that specific school.  Use the school's webpage to familiarize yourself with possible scholarships, grants, loans and work study.  Don't forget to ask about specific department's or program's scholarships and scholarships deadlines.

The DAR Scholarship Committee Now Has an Online Submission Process

DAR is pleased to announce all students applying for scholarships offered by the DAR Scholarship Committee will submit their applications using the online application portal below.  Emailed or mailed applications will no longer be accepted, unless applying for the Margaret Howard Hamilton Scholarship.

Deadline March 11, 2023 - Missouri Women's Golf Education Association
This scholarship will be given in recognition of her overall academic record, community service activities, leadership and golf experience.  Please use this link for more information and application.  MO Women's Golf Education

Deadline March 15, 2023 - MO Association of Mutual Insurance Companies (MAMIC)
Must attend a Missouri post-secondary school. This year MAMIC will award several - $1000 high school scholarships to students living in MO attending MO schools. Please go to this link for the online application and more information:  MAMIC Scholarship

Deadline March 16, 2023- Altrusa 2023 Scholarship

2 Altrusa Scholarships will be awarded in the amount of $2500.00.  applications from non-traditional students are highly encouraged and will receive preference. Financial need, scholastic standing, leadership skills, and potential for success in the field of study selected will be considered in awarding the scholarships. Deadline March 17, 2023 - WIN Scholarship.  WIN is offering to any high school senior a $1000.00 scholarship towards college or technical school education.  Applicant must be pursuing a post-secondary education in a field applicable to the needs of nuclear or other power-related industries; Applicant must include a letter of reference from teacher or administrator; Complete application; Essay.  Please go to the left side of this page and click on Current Local Scholarships for instructions, mailing address and application. 

Deadline March 31, 2023 - Missouri Credit Union Scholarship

Applications are now open for MO Credit Union's annual scholarship program. To help member families cope with the rising cost of higher education. MO Credit Union will award 16 $2500 scholarships to graduating seniors who are current members of the credit union, or whose parents or guardians are members. Recipients are selected based on financial need, scholastic achievement, and extracurricular activities. For more information and to apply, please visit this link:  MO Credit Union

Deadline April 1, 2023 - Ralls County Mutual Insurance Scholarship
This is for three $1000 scholarships that will be awarded by Ralls County Mutual Insurance Company.  2 will be awarded to MO high school seniors attending a college or university.  1 will be awarded to 1 MO high school senior attending an accredited Trade School in MO.

Deadline April 13, 2023 - Central MO Charter Property Casualty Underwriter Scholarships. 
Candidates will write an essay on the following topic:  Describe how inflation and supply chain interruptions have affected the auto insurance industry and its consumers.  Please go to the left side of the page and click on Current Local Scholarships for more information and details and email address to submit your essay. 

Deadline April 15, 2023 - Insurance Professionals Senior Scholarship
IPMM is offering a scholarship to a high school senior who meets the eligibility requirements. candidates will write an essay on the following topic: The insurance industry provides a wide variety of career opportunities. Why should every high school student consider a career in insurance?  For more details, instructions and email information please go to the left side of this page and click on Current Local Scholarships.  You are responsible to email your essay to them.

Deadline April 15, 2023 - C & L Tiling Scholarship    
This scholarship amount is $1,500. Tp be eligible for consideration, an applicant must: Be a high school graduate; be accepted for enrollment at a post-secondary school; exhibit potential for completing a course of studey and be a full time student. Student demonstrated interest in agriculture of related fields, financial need.  Go to the right of this page and click on Local Scholarship, you will see detailed information and application.  It is your responsibility to mail this to the committee yourself.  
Deadline May 15, 2023 not postmarked received - Septagon Construction Scholarship
$500 scholarship to encourage and aid students who have demonstrated leadership and service, in their pursuit of a professional construction-related degree. Please see attached Application and Guidelines, please go to the left of this page and click on Current Local Scholarship.  It will lead you to this information.

Deadline June 10, 2023 - Abbot & Fenner Scholarship Program

This is a $1000 Scholarship awarded yearly.  Students will submit an essay on the topic that appears on the scholarship page of their web site.  Go to this link for detailed information application.  Abbott & Fenner
